What's the logic in the rules for a freak injury being a TKO and not a no contest? I believe this is officially relevant to our discussions (even though it changes nothing in the short term)?

Blaydes is the 3rd best HW now. Like this fight or not jokes aside he still didn’t win. But only Francis objectively wins versus him and Jon might beat him.

I know it opens things up for fighters being able feign injury and walk away with a draw, but damn it feels wrong for someone to blow out their knee in the opening minute and that goes down as a loss. If they’d clashed heads it’d be a No Contest.

Well if it is an MCL tear, those are less serious than ACLs and he should be back by January or February vs an ACL where he would be out until at least next July if not later

It's a TKO because one dimension that is tested in a fight is your durability. Sucks when things like that happens but at end of the day you're trying to hurt your opponent and their bnody broke in some way regardless of how it happened. Rules doesn't differentiate between injuries.

Yeah I’d be okay with a commission making the call on the difference between a checked kick injuring a fighter vs someone planting a foot wrong and tearing an ACL.
